Ambri, an energy startup commercializing an innovative battery technology first developed at MIT, is seeking a Librarian/ Document Control Administrator to create, support and operate the document management system for the roll out and launch of Ambri’s DC system product.

Position Overview

Ambri is seeking an individual to be a key member of the Ambri System Engineering team.  The position requires working collaboratively with other engineering and development disciplines to design novel solutions to complex utility scale energy storage challenges using Ambri’s LiquidTM Metal Battery technology. The individual in this role will be responsible to assist in the development of the CAD librarian role and execution of its function. This role also includes the documentation administrators’ responsibilities.  The CAD librarian is responsible for the administration and library functions such as schematic circuit design and CAD design flow. The document control function is responsible for maintaining and controlling records, their related files, and release of drawings and engineering documents to manufacturing and other operating departments.

Responsibilities:

CAD Librarian Function:

  • Work with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to create partse. symbols, footprints and geometries.
  • Originate and process the ECO documentation providing proper sign-off for models and footprints.
  • Enter the part or drawing numbers and information into the MRP database.
  • Enter the parts into the appropriate E/M CAD database libraries for use by the designers.
  • Understanding component manufacturers’ data sheets and orthographic projection (Multiview).
  • Conversant with OrCAD and Altium, schematic entry tools and SolidWorks CAD tool for mechanical.

 

Documentation Control Function:

  • Confer with document originators or engineering personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents.
  • Provide engineering with qualified parts numbers for CAD models, documentation and firmware releases
  • Originate the proper documentation such as ECO, MCO, waivers etc. and distribute to appropriate departments and functions for review and sign-off. When necessary, convene meetings to resolve ECO-related issues (CCB).
  • Work with peer function(s) in Manufacturing to ensure proper release and coordination of engineering document packages and change orders into the various Manufacturing groups or processes.
  • Provide regular status of change orders and other related functions.

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be able to work within OrCAD and Altium, schematic entry tools, at a level to create library symbols and files.
  • Experience using SolidWorks CAD tool, for creation of mechanical part models.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Ability to analyze data and come to conclusions.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Can work independently without much guidance
  • Self-starter and possess good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Microsoft office suite skills.
  • Familiarity with the use of GitHub is a plus.

 

  • Education Level:

 

CAD librarian function requires Associate of Applied Science in Computer-Aided Design Technology, BSET, or equivalent. Equivalent experience is also accepted.

 

Documentation control function requires an Associate degree in business or supply chain or equivalent. Equivalent experience is also accepted.
